Full Moon Ritual to Enhance Inner Peace

Our life is filled with cycles. There are cycles of seasons, cycles of thoughts and emotions, cycles of seconds minutes hours days weeks months years....women go through monthly cycles. They're everywhere! And, just as humans go through cycles so do our planets and moons.

The moon goes through a 28 day cycle of radiating her energy upon us through waxing and waning, receiving and releasing energy, and ebbing and flowing. And, each phase of the moon means different things!


New Moon: A new cycle. An energy of new possibilities. Time to set your intentions for what you want to bring into your life.

Waxing Moon: New growth, continued action, results will come about.

Full Moon: High tide of power, amplifying and creative. It is a time to release that which no longer serves you, what you no longer need in your life or an aspect of yourself that you have outgrown.

Waning Moon: Withdrawing, a sucking and pulling impact.

Dark Moon: A time to go within. Solitude. A powerful psychic time where revelations from deep within can emerge. It’s important to make space for the unfolding of spirit at this time in preparation for the new cycle and beginning.


I love me some rituals and creating goals, intentions, and plans while using the phases of the moon are my jam! I feel like when I am very clear on what I want {and no longer want} in my life and use the phases of the moon to harness this energy that it strategically enhances what I truly want in my life. And, it is only fitting to speak about the full moon since it is happening tonight and how you can utilize this powerful energy to begin creating a life that you truly want.

We know that the full moon is all about releasing and letting go of what is no longer serving you. Removing that chaotic energy from your life and setting it free so that you can experience more calm, focused, and harmonious energy in your life. One of my favourite full moon rituals is to sit in meditation the night of the full moon {tonight!} and really reflect on my current life. What in my life is causing me to feel anxious, unhappy, and maybe even fearful?
Maybe, for you that is a current relationship, or thought and belief system? Maybe it is a habit that no longer serves you, or lifestyle?

Whatever it is for you, reflect upon that in meditation and really feel what it feels like to experience these things? Ask yourself "how is this serving me?" and you will find, more often than not that it isn't.

After you have completed your meditation you will create a list of things that you want to remove from your life right now. That you're so OVER and want GONE! This list can be as detailed as you'd like, you can write down how it makes you feel or what you're going to do to end this situation. Or, you can simply write point form what it is you want removed. I personally find that the more detailed I am, the more I get that energy out of my body quicker and act upon what I really want.

And finally, when it is night time and the moon is out you will simply go outside with your list and look at the moon while lighting your list on fire! {Disclaimer: make sure you have water on hand if you need, and that you are not near something that could catch on fire. I feel like this all goes without saying, lol}
As your list burns up into flames and that ashes scatter, envision all of this energy traveling up towards the moon and her absorbing the negative emotions that you felt towards them. Stand or sit in the moon and within your thoughts for a few moments, give thanks, and begin to focus on how you wish to create more harmony in your life.
